Tel Aviv is best known for its Bauhaus architecture, but the building on HaYarkon Street is clearly the influence of architect Antoni Gaudi.
This whimsical building was designed by architect Leon Geneva in 1985. The building is sometimes referred to as the “Crazy House”; the building is definitely one of a kind.
Tip: The “Crazy House” is located on 181 HaYarkon Street in Tel Aviv. The apartment building is still lived in, so it is not open to the public.
Tip: Note the privacy given to the building by the covers on the windows at the sides of the building. Note as well the trees and carvings on the center of the building, and the sand sculptures on the sides of the front of the building.
